This ancient folktale is to believe having a deep meaning behind it, and there are many moral lessons need to be learned from it. This is what I believe:
1) Never to force someone to do things they don't want to do, it would end up hurting their feelings.
2) Tricking or lying to someone will lead to a terrible fate or a rash punishment after that person discovered the ugly truth.
3) Being arrogant will mostly never get anything they want, even if it is something that is very important to them.
4) Always telling your troubles to the people that you cared and trusted, before it's too late.
